On-site troubleshooting
A technician on your floor with the meters, software and experience to trace a fault to its source.
Downtime is measured in dollars per hour, not days. URang troubleshoots industrial machines on site — from PLC faults and drive failures to wiring, sensors and operator interfaces — and either repairs the problem or tells you exactly what needs to happen next.
A complete scope, not a list of billable extras. Here is what this service covers.
A technician on your floor with the meters, software and experience to trace a fault to its source.
Fault code interpretation, I/O forcing, program review and recovery for Allen-Bradley, Siemens and other common platforms.
Drive faults, parameter recovery, motor and encoder checks, and replacement sizing when a drive is beyond repair.
Blank screens, communication loss, dead touch panels and replacement or migration options.
Power distribution, control circuits, sensors, relays, contactors and intermittent connections.
As-built notes and recommended spares so the next fault is faster to resolve.
We work with businesses of every size, from a five-person office to a multi-line plant.
When a machine goes down, the first job is to protect production. We ask for the fault code, the machine make and model, what changed immediately before the failure and whether the line is fully stopped or running degraded. That information lets us bring the right tools and, often, the right spare on the first trip.
On site, diagnosis follows the circuit rather than the guesswork. We verify power, check safety circuits and interlocks, inspect connections and sensors, read PLC and drive fault history, and test the devices the controller is complaining about. Intermittent faults get special treatment: we log conditions over time rather than declaring the machine fixed because it ran for ten minutes.
Once the cause is known we present the options clearly. Sometimes it is a component replacement; sometimes it is a board repair, a parameter recovery or a wiring correction. If the honest answer is that the machine needs a controls retrofit, we say so and scope it, but we do not use a breakdown as an excuse to sell a rebuild.
The repair is not finished until the machine runs under real load and the maintenance team understands what happened. We leave notes on the fault, the fix and the recommended spares, so the next event — if there is one — is resolved faster and with less production lost.
We ask the questions that shorten the repair before we arrive, and we prioritize stopped production over routine work.
PLC, drive, HMI and wiring experience in one technician means fewer handoffs and less time waiting.
If a repair is the right call we repair it. If a retrofit is the right call we scope it. We do not sell around the diagnosis.
We respond to industrial downtime across Dayton, Kettering, Moraine, Miamisburg, West Carrollton, Vandalia, Troy, Tipp City, Springfield and the surrounding Miami Valley manufacturing corridor. Remote program and drive support is available for clients outside the immediate service area.
Not sure whether you are in range? Call (937) 226-9466 (Dayton) or (989) 286-5123 (Michigan), or email urang@urangit.com and we will tell you honestly whether we can help and what it would take.
Local emergency calls are typically addressed the same day, and often within hours depending on schedule and travel. We ask for the machine make, model and fault code when you call so we arrive prepared.
We work on Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, AutomationDirect and many legacy platforms, along with common drive and servo manufacturers. If we do not support a specific platform, we will tell you up front.
We carry common components and can source or repair boards and drives quickly. For critical machines we help you build a recommended spares list.
Yes, and if drawings are missing or wrong we trace the circuit and update them as part of the repair.
Yes. Scheduled inspections of controls, drives, cooling and connections catch many failures before they stop production.
We scope the retrofit, explain the trade-offs and can carry out the upgrade — but we will not push a replacement when a repair is the right call.
Tell us what is happening and we will tell you how we would approach it. No pressure, no scripted sales call.
