Network design & switching
Structured cabling, managed switches, VLANs and segmentation that keep business, voice and OT traffic properly separated.
Your network is the foundation every other system sits on. URang designs and supports wired and wireless networks, firewalls, servers and cloud services that are secure, documented and monitored — so phones, cameras, machines and staff all get the connectivity they need.
A complete scope, not a list of billable extras. Here is what this service covers.
Structured cabling, managed switches, VLANs and segmentation that keep business, voice and OT traffic properly separated.
Business-grade firewalls, site-to-site and remote-access VPN, and rules that are documented rather than accumulated.
Site surveys, access point placement and roaming configuration that eliminate dead zones and dropped connections.
New server builds, hypervisor setup, storage, Active Directory and file services, plus migration from aging hardware.
Email, file and identity setup with security defaults, MFA and sensible retention.
Move the right workloads to the cloud, keep the rest on site, and back up both with tested restores.
We work with businesses of every size, from a five-person office to a multi-line plant.
Network projects begin with a survey of the physical space and the traffic that runs through it. We check cabling, switching, wireless coverage, internet circuits and how voice, cameras, guest devices and industrial equipment are separated. Many performance problems are design problems, and no amount of new hardware fixes a design that was never right.
The design that follows is documented before implementation: IP addressing, VLANs, firewall rules, wireless access point placement, server roles and cloud services. You get a clear picture of what will change and why, plus a cutover plan that stages disruptive work outside business hours.
Implementation is done in phases so the business keeps running. Core switching and firewall work is scheduled first, wireless and server changes follow, and cloud migrations are tested with a small group before everyone is moved. Every change is recorded, because an undocumented network becomes impossible to support the moment the person who built it is unavailable.
After cutover we monitor the result. Alerts for outages, capacity and security events are tuned so you hear about real problems and not noise. Periodic reviews catch aging equipment, expiring certificates and growth before they turn into an outage, which is far cheaper than reacting after the fact.
Addressing, VLANs, firewall rules and server roles written down, so the network can be supported by more than one person.
Segmentation, MFA and least-privilege access are built in from the start rather than bolted on after an incident.
Disruptive work happens outside business hours, with a rollback plan and testing before everyone is moved.
Network, server and cloud projects are delivered across Dayton, Kettering, Beavercreek, Centerville, Miamisburg, Huber Heights, Troy, Springfield and the surrounding Miami Valley. Cloud and remote administration can support locations anywhere, with on-site work scheduled as needed.
Not sure whether you are in range? Call (937) 226-9466 (Dayton) or (989) 286-5123 (Michigan), or email urang@urangit.com and we will tell you honestly whether we can help and what it would take.
Yes. We survey the space, measure interference and coverage, and design access point placement before installing anything. That is how dead zones get fixed the first time.
Often yes. If it is current and properly licensed we will configure it; if it is end-of-life or underpowered we will explain the risk and quote a replacement.
It depends on what you move. Email and file shares are usually straightforward; line-of-business applications need vendor coordination. We plan the order of operations and test before cutover.
We schedule disruptive work outside business hours and stage new equipment in parallel wherever possible.
We design and coordinate structured cabling, working with cabling partners for physical installation, and terminate and test the network side.
Yes. Monitoring is included in our managed plans, with alerts for outages, capacity issues and security events.
